Lorie Souther :: Fall Fun Cards

Hello!  Have you been having lots of Fall fun this season?  The trees are gorgeous here right now, and making cards to celebrate this beautiful season couldn't be more fun.  It's Lorie from The ThINKin' Spot here today, and I have a couple of cards to share that I created for a fun event over on The Peachy Keen Connection.  One of our members there recently hosted a Fall Card Swap, and I joined in on the fun by taking two spots in her swap.  I decided to go with one Fall themed card and one Halloween card, and I love how they turned out.  I hope those who received them, loved them, too!

For my first card I used the spider and You Are Boo-ti-ful sentiment  from the  PK-630 Nikkity Knack Cat Gang stamp set.  I thought this little guy would be cute with some googly eyes,  and I found these small  size ones that fit just perfectly.   I just love the Have A Peachy Keen Halloween sentiment.  That was a free stamp that was included with every order during a sale at Peachy Keen Stamps a few weeks ago.   Hopefully you were one of the lucky ones who got in on that awesome deal!  The little spider was stamped directly onto a pre-printed tag, and that helped make this a quick and easy card, and the inspiration for the layout of this one came from a stamping friend.

For my second card I decided to go with a Fall theme, and I knew I wanted to use some of this wonderful paper that I got from Stampin' Up!.  It matched so perfectly with this little ear of corn from the Pk-292 Faceless Corn stamp set.  I kept the embellishments simple, because I wanted the background paper and that sweet little ear of corn to shine.

Well, I think that's all I've got for you today.  I hope you've enjoyed what you've seen and that  you had a great weekend.  Have a great week, and HAPPY STAMPING to ya!!

Raven Baca :: Halloween Holler Time

Hey everyone! Raven here with some really fun Halloween projects to share with you!!! I was so super excited for October to roll around. I just love this time of year don't you?!?!?! And more so than the weather I LOVE the adorable Halloween stamps that made their way out of the Peachy Keen Offices. ;)
These images by Steve Yarbrough were just too darn cute to stay in the package! I opened them up right away!!!
First up is Frankie who I LOVE and you can find him here...
And then of course I had to color in the adorable Mummy man sooo cute.

Did you all spy that envelope in the background of each card. Yup I totally snagged this idea from a Peachy Halloween Swap that we had last year over at the Peachy Connection and duplicated it. ;) I used the PK-630 Nikkity Knack Cat Gang set for the sentiment as well as the hanging spider. ;)
I LOVED coloring the mummy so much I made a video just showing how I color.
Hope you all enjoy and thank you so much for stopping by. ;)

Nikki Foraker :: Masking With Nikki

Hello! Nikki here with a photo tutorial on masking. The bright green paper is Post-It Craft Paper. It's sticky all over like a Post-It note. I stamped the haunted house from the September 2012 set and drew in a bigger hill with pencil. I used a circle die to cut out a circle that will become my moon. So I have now made two masks. I'm using patterned paper from the September Peachy Picks Kit.
I used the Cloudy Day Background stamp to make a spooky sky. I inked it up with pumice stone distress ink and misted it with water in a mini mister to get a splotchy look. I think it adds to the spooky factor.
I removed the circle mask and added the "negative" mask. Now it's time to color the moon.
I inked the moon with distress inks in mustard seed, wild honey, and ripe persimmon. I blended the colors on with an ink blending tool and the blending foam pad. I then drew around the circle with a black marker to make it stand out from the background. Remove the mask and this is what we have...
Bam! A spooky moon! :) And now it's time to stamp some more...
I know this looks a little crazy, but it will turn out cool...I swear! I cut a longer sidewalk out of the "negative" mask so I could have a gray sidewalk. Inked over it with a black marker. And from there I did some trimming and some more stamping and here is the finished card...
Tada! What started off looking crazy came together. I stamped some bats from the Dress Me Ghost set. And the sentiment is from the September 2012 set.
The patterned papers are from the September Peachy Picks Kit. The gray was just a little off from the ink I used, but no problem, I just inked right over it with distress ink for a perfect match. And here is another card I did using this same technique...
For this one I used a larger circle for the moon, but everything else is the same. I stamped the witch from the September 2012 on the moon I created by masking.
The patterned papers on this one are also from the September Peachy Picks Kit.

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial on masking! Have a Perfectly Peachy day!
