Lorie Souther :: Ready, Set, Glow!!

Good morning!
Well, I've been sharing posts from our talented designers at Peachy Keen Stamps for almost two weeks and it's FINALLY my turn to share a project with you!  I hope you've enjoyed all of the amazing things that have been shared here, and I also hope that you've been visiting The Timeless Twine Blog each day as well to see the  wonderful works of art that their team has to share.

For my card, I decided to use a stamp set that's a favorite of mine.  It's actually one that I drew?  Ha!  Can you believe that?  I can't!  This is one from the Country Bumpkin line.  Jack-O-Light is a lot of fun to color.  Now in the case of the card today, you might notice there's a lack of color, where Mr. Jack is concerned  I have to admit that I'm kinda a little more than obsessed with these pretty white pumpkins that I see this time of year, and I find myself looking for them nearly everywhere I go.  I love the pale almost ghostly skin on them, but when you actually carve one, the flesh is just as orange and pumpkin colored as can be.  Put a light in them, and the orange glow is SO PRETTY!

I colored this image with Copic markers, and added some Flower Soft Ultra Fine Sprinkles in Earth and Toffee colors to ground Mr. Jack.  To make great use of the beautiful Kraft and Black Timeless Twine, I decided to crochet around the edges of the card stock.  I love the way it turned out.  It made the perfect little frame for Mr. Jack.  After all the crocheting was finished, I wrapped some more twine around the top of the card and finished it off with a handmade bow of twine.

I'm so glad you could stop by today and I hope you'll be joining us here again through Sunday when we'll have more stampy and twiney goodness to share with you!  Have a wonderful day, and HAPPY STAMPIN!!

Lorie Souther :: Oh Baby Diaper Cake

Good morning!
Lorie here today from The ThINKin' Spot with a cute little project to share with you.
I made this for The Peachy Keen Challenge this week, which is a 3-D project pertaining to babies.

There's never a shortage of diapers around here, so a diaper cake seemed like the obvious 3-D item for this challenge.  Here's what I came up with...

All of the images for this come from the PKSC-15 March 2013 stamp set, and everything was colored with Copic Markers.  Some ribbon and pearl flourishes finished this project off.  What a sweet way to present a baby gift!  I LOVE this idea!!  Before I wind this post up, I wanted to be sure and share some of the exciting stuff that's happening at Peachy Keen Stamps.

Lorie Souther :: Fall Fun Cards

Hello!  Have you been having lots of Fall fun this season?  The trees are gorgeous here right now, and making cards to celebrate this beautiful season couldn't be more fun.  It's Lorie from The ThINKin' Spot here today, and I have a couple of cards to share that I created for a fun event over on The Peachy Keen Connection.  One of our members there recently hosted a Fall Card Swap, and I joined in on the fun by taking two spots in her swap.  I decided to go with one Fall themed card and one Halloween card, and I love how they turned out.  I hope those who received them, loved them, too!

For my first card I used the spider and You Are Boo-ti-ful sentiment  from the  PK-630 Nikkity Knack Cat Gang stamp set.  I thought this little guy would be cute with some googly eyes,  and I found these small  size ones that fit just perfectly.   I just love the Have A Peachy Keen Halloween sentiment.  That was a free stamp that was included with every order during a sale at Peachy Keen Stamps a few weeks ago.   Hopefully you were one of the lucky ones who got in on that awesome deal!  The little spider was stamped directly onto a pre-printed tag, and that helped make this a quick and easy card, and the inspiration for the layout of this one came from a stamping friend.

For my second card I decided to go with a Fall theme, and I knew I wanted to use some of this wonderful paper that I got from Stampin' Up!.  It matched so perfectly with this little ear of corn from the Pk-292 Faceless Corn stamp set.  I kept the embellishments simple, because I wanted the background paper and that sweet little ear of corn to shine.

Well, I think that's all I've got for you today.  I hope you've enjoyed what you've seen and that  you had a great weekend.  Have a great week, and HAPPY STAMPING to ya!!

You're All That :: Lorie Souther

Good morning peachy friends!  It's Lorie here today from The ThINKin' Spot, and I'm still having lots of fun with the August release from Peachy Keen Stamps.  My card for today was created with the PK-127 Sandwich Fun stamp set, and the August Peachy Picks Kit.

I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa  ink and then colored and shaded with Copic markers.  The sparkle of jelly that you see is actually purple or grape colored Stickles, which added some sparkle and texture to this sweet image.   I hope you like it, and are inspired to create something fabulous and fun with YOUR Peachy Keen Stamps!!

Are y'all ready for some new peachy goodness soon?  Well, it won't be long till the next round of peachy sneak peeks will be coming your way, and oh my are you ever gonna LOVE 'EM!!  Have a fabulous day, and happy stamping!!

Tick Tock Clocks :: Lorie Souther

Hello!  It's Lorie here today, and I'm thrilled to share with you a couple of cards I made using the new PKSC-04 Stamp of the Month set from Peachy Keen Stamps.   This set is so much fun to work with, has endless possibilities, and it includes so many wonderful sentiments that are perfect for nearly any occasion you can imagine.

The images for both cards were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers.  All of the card stock and patterned paper was a part of this month's Peachy Picks Kit.  I love working with these kits!  There's no guess work with them at all, because everything is coordinated beautifully, and there's plenty of product included for many, many wonderful projects.

The lace trim on this card was also a part of the Peachy Picks Kit.  I stamped the sentiment, then cut it apart , and mounted it using foam dots to pop it up and add dimension.

This card not only shows off the card stock, and patterned paper from the Peachy Picks Kit, but also showcases the amazing clock faces and spinner/hands from Tim Holtz, which are also included in this month's kit.  They're the perfect addition to this larger size pocket watch stamp.  The PK-104 What Time Is It? background stamp made a great back drop for this image, and the sentiment is from the PKSC-04 Stamp of the Month.

I hope you've enjoyed my creations today.  Glad you could drop by!  Have a great day and happy stamping!!!

Magical Masking :: Lorie Souther

Hello and happy Friday!  WOW!  We've seen so many wonderful creations from the newPeachy Keen Stamp of the Month, and  Peachy Picks Kit, and I've got another one for you.  It's Lorie here today with my most recent creation using both of the above mentioned club kits.   For this card, I used the PKSC-03 March 2012 stamp set, which is filled with the cutest little gnomes, and all kinds of little "gnomey" things to go with them.   The stump, made into a sweet little house was what I chose to work with from the set for today, and I used a masking technique to add the mushroom and flower and grass  around the bottom of the tree.
The image was stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers, and the card stock is from this month's Peachy Picks Kit.  I even used a bit of card stock and twine from last months kit for this card.  I love that I'm finding ways to use up all of the contents of these kits, rather than hoarding them up like I tend to do.  They're so much prettier on display like this, rather than stashed away.
Here's a little closer look.  I thought that little mushroom made the perfect chimney for this sweet little house, and I cut some puffs of smoke out of white card stock to showcase the Gnome Sweet Gnome sentiment.  The fabulous balsa wood tree, which is part of the Peachy Picks Kit was left au naturale, other than a bit of sponging on the edges with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  I also inked the edges of the image panel with the same Vintage Photo colored ink.  I actually used nearly the entire piece of green lace from the kit.  I adds such great texture to this card, and is just perfect for a plush, grassy effect.  I attached it with some red line tape by scrunching it up  and sticking it to the tape as I went along the bottom of the card.  The green resin flower tucked into the faux grass is also one of the wonderful elements in this kit.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!!  Happy Stamping!!
