Hi Friends! It's Joy with Joy's Life.com. I'm so happy to have been invited to be a Guest Designer on the Peachy Keen blog this week! I remember when I bought my very first Peachy Keen stamps and it's a very special honor to now be able to be a part of their blog for a week.
I love the Peachy Keen face stamps. They're so much fun and they make me look like I can draw...what's not to love there? LOL! Seriously though, I had super fun making this card and using these stamps. Let me tell you how I did it.
I used the Peachy Keen PK-681 Retro Paper Doll Faces to create my little heart faced friends. The "I love you" sentiment is from the Joy's Life Mother & Daughter stamp set. I used my Gypsy to weld the XO with another XO to form the card. The XO comes from Smiley Cards, which was a downloadable only Gypsy digital cartridge. You can learn more about it here. I also used a heart from another cartridge and welded it inside the "O". I flipped the heart over for some contrast. Yet another reason to love double sided paper!
Aren't those faces soooo cute?! I LOVE THEM!
I used a Sizzix Textured Impressions Hearts embossing folder along with my Cuttlebug to create the raised hearts embossing. The shiny green paper in the back is by Bazzill and the rest of the paper is from my scrap stash. (I'm trying to whittle down my scraps a bit.) I used a Signo white gel pen to draw on some stitching around the edges of the card and also for the whites of the eyes and the mouths. I colored in the faces using Copic markers. If you haven't tried them...you should. You're going to LOVE THEM!
Here's are the Copic marker colors that I used. I used the Skin White EOO color over the eyelids. It would be great to own all of the Copic markers, but they are really expensive. I buy a few at a time. Purchase a blending Copic to get more use out of the colors you own and for cool blending effects.
I stamped the Joy's Life "I Love You" sentiment and punched it out using a punch from Stampin Up. I punched a hole in either side of the paper and used the needle and thread from my Sew Easy (Here's a link to a Sew Easy video I made) to thread and make those little bows. I popped up the tag using pop dots.
And now...time for a fun Give Away!!
Peachy Keen has given me a set of their PK-754 Critter Faces Set A to give away during my week of Guest Designing. YAY! All you have to do to be entered for a chance to win these cute stamps is to leave a comment here and also on my post on my blog www.joyslife.com. I'll choose a winner Saturday, Feb 5 and post the winner on Friday's post on Joy's Life.
Have a Peachy Day!! I'll see you tomorrow with a new Peachy creation.
