Kim Score :: Dog House Treat Box

Hello all, this is Kim Score from www.paperpunchaddiction.com.  Today I want to show you how to make this cute little dog house treat box.  This is the perfect gift for the dog lover in your life.  You can either fill the box with doggie treats for their pet or people treats for them!

For this project, I'm using the PKSC-20 August 2013 Stamp of the Month set.  I love the puppy and house in this set!  It's perfect for paper piecing for a great three dimensional look.  Following are the step by step instructions to make the treat box.

Step 1
Cut a 10-1/2" x 7-1/4" piece of chocolate chip card stock or wood grain designer paper (I used Woodgrain Love by My Little Shoe Box).  On the long side, score at 2-1/2", 5", 7-1/2" and 10".  On the short side, score at 2" and 5-1/4".  Sharpen the score lines.

Step 2
If using a patterned paper, turn the paper over to mark on the back side.  On the first and third squares along the top, mark at the center top of each square (1-1/4" is the center of the square).  Draw a line from the center point to the lower corner of the square.  Now measure out 1/2" from the lines just drawn and draw a line as shown.

Step 3
Clip on the score lines and cut away the sections as shown. Use a ruler and bone folder to score on the pencil lines. Sharpen score lines.

Step 4
Flip over and put a strong adhesive on the tabs as shown. Do not add adhesive to the inside tabs on the pointed sections. These tabs will be used for the roof top to open and close.

Step 5
Assemble box.  Tape bottom flaps of box closed.

Step 6
Cut a 3" x 5-1/2" piece of early espresso or textured card stock.  Score at 2-3/4" and sharpen crease.  Attach to the two tabs with adhesive.  The other side of the roof will be a "flap" to get the treats from the box.  Add a repositionable adhesive/velcro/magnets to these tabs so it can be opened easily.

Step 7
Cut a piece of black/espresso card stock 1-3/4" x 2-3/4".  Corner round the top edges and glue piece onto the front of dog house. Stamp the puppy twice onto a designer paper or card stock.  Stamp the face onto one of the bodies.  Cut that head out and mount onto the other dog image with dimensionals. Attach dog to front of dog house with dimensionals.

Kim Score :: Happy Summer Lollipop Treat

Hello all! This is Kim Score from www.paperpunchaddiction.com.  I found these cute little lollypops at my local Target store and instantly I knew what I wanted to make!   The PKSC-18 June 2013 stamp set goes perfectly with this idea.

Following are the step by step instructions.  It's really very easy to make these fun sucker covers.  Don't have a sucker? Try adding a clear window to the opening and filling with small candies instead.

Regal Rose card stock
Tangerine Tango card stock
Certainly Celery card stock

Big Shot (or other die cutter)

3/8" Circle punch
Basic Black ink
Peach Parfait marker
Pumpkin Pie marker
Tangerine Tango marker

Score Board

Step 1:
Cut a 10-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Regal Rose card stock.  Score at 3/4", 4-3/4", 5-1/2", 9-1/2" on the long side.  Score at 3/4", 4-3/4" on the short side. Sharpen the folds.  Clip the corners off.  Cut on the short score lines at the center.  On the back side of the card stock, mark at the center of each end on the flap.  Punch a 3/8" circle on the mark.

Step 2

Using the Big Scallop Circle die set from Spellbinders, select the 2nd from the outside.  Die cut a scallop circle from a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock.  Glue onto the center of of one side as shown.

Step 3

Using the Petite Circle dies set from Spellbinders, select the 2nd from the outside.  Center it on the scallop circle and die cut through all layers.

Step 4

Cut a piece of 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" Certainly Celery card stock.  Glue onto back of empty circle as shown.

Step 5

Using the circle dies from Spellbinders, select the 3rd die from the outside.  Center in the circle and die cut through all layers.  You should have a narrow green border on the inside of the window.  Add sticky strip or other adhesive on the flaps.  Adhere the flaps on each end together, aligning the punch holes.  Slip the sucker stick into the hole from the side opening of the box.  Close the sides of the box and tape in place.

Stamp the starfish on Shimmery White card stock with black in.  Color with markers and cut out.  Attach to the center of sucker with a dimensional.  Stamp the greeting onto certainly celery card stock and punch out with modern label punch.  Attach to front with dimensional.  Attach the ribbon that came with the sucker onto the stick.

Kim Score :: Christmas Bear

Hello everyone!  This is Kim Score from www.paperpunchaddiction.com.  Today I have a quick and fun project to share with you.  This sweet little Christmas bear was made with the Peachy Keen Cottage Cutz Tear Bear die and a handful of punches.  I love the PK-139 Tear Bear Face Parts so I substituted that for the faces that come with the die.  The faces with the die are very cute, so it's not necessary to use the other set.  But if you like the variety of eyes and noses, I highly recommend this set.  It's amazing what you can do to adapt this cutie to any holiday!  My step by step tutorial to make the bear is below.  Enjoy!

Supplies:

PK-139 Tear Bear Face Parts (optional since the die comes with a set of 4 faces)

Blossom punch

Full Heart punch

Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Cherry Cobbler, Shimmery White card stock (please note that the cocoa and caramel are retired - substitute for what you have)

Green and red designer papers of choice

sponge daubers, chalk brush

unibal white gel pen

dimensionals, liquid glue, scissors

Assembly:

Step 1

Die cut the bear and punch the following pieces:

Full Heart for hat (print of choice)

Boho Blossoms - 1 large flower and 4 small flowers for hat (shimmery white)

Blossom for wreath (print of choice)

12 circles for berries (cherry cobbler)

Step 2

Lightly sponge the edges of all bear pieces with chocolate chip ink.  Stamp the eyes with black ink on head.  Stamp nose onto muzzle.  Add white highlights with unibal gel pen.  Stipple rose ink onto cheeks with chalk brush.  Glue ears and belly pieces onto body.  Stipple rose ink onto ears and belly. Attach muzzle with dimensional.  Attach arms and legs.  Make sure to position arms out for holding wreath.

Step 3

Punch 1-1/4" Circle from center of each Blossom punch.  Sponge edges with coordinating green ink (optional).  Glue flowers on top of each other, staggering the petals.  Glue berries onto wreath.  Slightly curl in sides of bear head to fit through the center of wreath and secure wreath to body with dimensionals.

Step 4

Cut top off the full heart to create curved triangle.  Attach large boho blossom to top with dimensional.  Glue small boho blossoms along bottom for trim.  Glue hat onto head, covering one ear.

Kim Score :: Slider Card Tutorial

Hello, this is Kim Score from Paper Punch Addiction.  If you've been to my blog before, you know that I have a real love for interactive cards that pop up, slide and move.  Today I'm going to show you how to create a slider card that reveals a cute little punch art snow girl.

I was really excited when Peachy Keen came out with the newest set of face stamps called Piles of Smiles. This set is available in both a 1" and 3/4" size, perfect for punch art!  The set contains all of my favorite faces from the past few Stamp of the Month sets.  You will definitely want to add the PK-146 Piles of 1" Smiles to your collection.   Check out this awesome assortment!

Here is my card with the slide in both positions.  If the instructions I provide are not detailed enough, you can check out the original double slider tutorial at the Splitcoast Stampers site HERE.  Obviously I modified the card to show my pop up character on the front instead of a sentiment.

Supplies:

Instructions:

Step 1

To create the girl, punch the following pieces:

(1) 1-3/8" Circle from pink pirouette - HEAD

(2) Cupcake Builder (top) from chocolate chip - HAIR

(3) Modern Label from polkadot print - SCARF

(1) Full Heart from red print - HAT

(1) 1-3/8" Circle from red print - BODY

(6) Boho Blossoms from Shimmery White - HAT

(2) 1/2" Circles from cherry cobbler - MITTENS

Stamp the face with basic blank ink.  Color in whites of eyes with gel pen.  Color pink onto nose with blender pen and stipple/sponge pink onto cheeks.  Sponge edge of head with pretty in pink ink.

Step 2

Glue hair onto sides of head.  Glue hat onto top of head.  Glue 5 boho blossoms along hat brim and add blossom with dimensional to top of hat.  Glue head onto body.  Cut one modern label in half and glue at neck.  Glue other modern labels onto scarf at neck.

Step 3

Cut bashful blue cardstock 4-1/4" x 11" and fold in half.  Using word window punch, align side of punch at score line and slide towards center of card as far as it will go and punch.  

Step 4

Repeat step 3 on other side so you have 2 slots side by side.  Punch four 1/2" circles from scrap card stock. Add a dimensional to the center of 2 circles.  On each slot, place dimensional into slot from back and attach other 1/2" circle to create sliding circles.

Step 5

For the slider card, cut a piece of wild wasabi 3-1/2" x 5-3/8".  Decorate top of card as desired (keep in mind how much will show when card is assembled).  Glue 1-3/8" punched circle folded in half at top of card.  With the card base open and slots positioned on bottom half, lay card onto top half.  Add glue to the two slider circles and close card.  The circles will stick to the slider card.  Allow glue to dry.

Step 6

Open card back up and add sticky strip along outer edges as shown.  Close card to adhere sides.

Step 7

On front of card, glue snow girl body to one of the sliding circles.

Step 8

Cut a 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Shimmery white card stock and tear along the top.  Apply glue and glitter along top torn edge.  Attach to front of card (along side and bottom edges) with dimensionals.  Tear several other pieces of shimmery white card stock.  Add glitter to edges and layer onto front of card to create "snow bank".  The snow bank should cover most of the girl.  Attach mittens at top of snowbank on each side of girl.  Stamp a greeting onto the front of card.  Note: I changed the design of my sliding card after the pictures were taken. Adding layers to the top of sliding card has a tendency to "catch" the upper edge of the card base when sliding in and out.

Punch Art Piggy Showcase Card :: Kim Score

Hello, this is Kim from Paper Punch Addiction.  Recently, I shared a 3-D style card on my blog that many of you were wanting to learn how to make. To get a peek, click HERE.  At the time, I wasn't sure what I wanted to call it but I decided that "showcase card" really said it all. The center image is the showcase on a 3 dimensional stage.  This finished card is A2 size when folded flat.  I of course had to make punch art to go with it.  This sweet little piggy was created with the PK-754 Critter Faces Medium set and the coordinating greeting is from a retired PKS set.  The little piggy's head is mounted on an action wobble spring for even more fun.

Instructions:
Step 1
Punch the following pieces using Stampin' Up! punches:
1-3/8" Circle in blushing bride - HEAD
1-3/4" Circle in blushing bride - BODY
Modern Label in blushing bride - LEGS
2 Blossom Petals (smallest petal) in blushing bride - EARS
2 Small Hearts in black - HOOVES
Cut a 1/8" strip of blushing bride cardstock and wrap around a pencil or other narrow stick for the tail.

Stamp the pig face from PK-754 Critter Faces with black ink onto 1-3/8" Circle.  Color whites of eyes with uniball white gel pen.  Color tongue with red marker and inside of mouth with black.  Sponge snout and cheeks with blushing bride ink.

Cut the modern label in half and round out the ends.  Sponge the edges of all blushing bride pieces with blushing bride ink. Cut tip off black hearts for hooves.

Step 2

Glue ears onto back of head.  Glue hooves onto legs.  Attach legs to body with dimensionals.  Trim down the  edges of an Acton Wobble Spring until it fits onto the back of head.  Attach head to body with spring.  To cover the unstuck piece of the spring on back of body, punch a 1-1/4" Circle and adhere to spring.  If you don't use an action wobble spring, attach head with dimensional.  Glue tail onto back of body.

Step 3

For the card base, cut a piece of 11" x 4-1/4" creamy caramel card stock.  Score on the long side at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2".  Sharpen score lines and fold card in half.  On the lower half of front, add strong adhesive.

Step 4

Cut a piece of 4-1/2" x 4-1/4" ruby red (or riding hood red) card stock.  Aligning at bottom of card, attach to front.  This is the side view of assembled base when card is open.

Step 5

Cut two 8-1/2" x 1/2" strips of ruby red card stock.  Score at 3", 4", 7" and 8".  Cut one 4-1/2" x 1/2" strip of ruby red card stock.  Score at 1-1/2", 2", 3-1/2" and 4".  Join ends on each strip to form box ring.

Step 6

Use strong adhesive to attach props to front of card base. Add adhesive to front of props as shown.

Step 7

Cut a piece of 4-1/2" x 4-1/4" Cherry Cobbler card stock.  On the back side of card stock, measure and draw 2 lines on each side at 3/4" from edge.  Measure and draw a line 1" from top.  Cut out the center section as shown.  

Step 8

Emboss with wood grain embossing folder (this is optional, I like the real wood look).  Cut 2 strips of 1/4" x 3-1/2" early espresso card stock.  Glue on each side of doorway.  Cut a 1/2" x 3-3/8" strip of early espresso card stock and attach to top of doorway with dimensionals.

Step 9

Attach front frame to props on card base.  To hold the front frame in place when the card is open, create two "stops" for each side.  Cut two 1" x 3/4" pieces of early espresso card stock and fold each piece in half. Attach on card base where you want the front frame to sit.

Step 10

Stamp greeting with early espresso ink on base of card.  Open up card and place against stops.  Attach pig to center prop with dimensional.

Turtle Punch Art :: Kim Score

As I was planning out my project for today, I realized that I haven't shared any punch art in a while.  The sweet little faces in the June 2012 Stamp of the Month set inspired me to create this little punch art turtle.  The papers and stick on jewels from the June Peachy Picks Kit were perfect for this project. To finish off the card, I added this fun greeting from the SY-903 Hillbilly Holler More Phrases set.

To make the punch art turtle, you need to punch the following pieces (Stampin' Up! punches):

Wide Oval (shell)

2 Word Windows (shell)

2 Small Hearts (feet)

Blossom Petals (head and tail)

Assembly:

Cut the bottom off wide oval.  Sponge edges of all shell pieces with garden green ink.  Glue word window pieces at bottom of oval.  Cut wedge from center of each heart to create feet.  Cut off scalloped top of large blossom petal and trim away left side to create head.  Sponge edges of body pieces with pear pizzazz ink.

Stamp face with black ink.  Add whites to eyes with unibal gel pen.  Glue feet, tail and head to back of shell.

Happy Hour :: Kim Score

Hello everyone!  This is Kim Score with a quick and fun punch art project featuring a super cute face from the April 2012 Stamp of the Month set.  The fun greeting is from PK-105 Happy Hour.  To add some extra fun to the card, I mounted the beer mug with an Action Wobble to make him dance.

Supplies:

(paper, punches and inks from Stampin' Up!)

Instructions:
Punch a 3/4" Circle in white card stock.  Line up the Round Tab punch over the punched circle to create the beer mug handle.

Punch a Decorative Label out of So Saffron card stock.  Trim the pointed edges and bottom of label off.  Sponge edges with more mustard ink.  Paint lines onto label with blender pen and more mustard ink.  Stamp face with black ink.  Color whites of eyes with uni-ball white gel pen.  Punch two cupcake builder tops out of white card stock and lightly sponge edges with so saffron ink.

Cut the following layers for card:

5-1/2" x 8-1/2" crumb cake card stock for base, folded in half

5-3/8" x 4-1/8" saffron polkadot paper

5/8" x 4-1/8" crumb cake, stripe and bashful blue designer paper strips

3-1/4" x 3-1/4" crumb cake card stock

3" x 3" wild wasabi card stock

2-7/8" x 2-7/8" white card stock

1-3/4" x 2-7/8" striped wild wasabi paper

Assemble card layers.  Stamp greeting with wild wasabi ink. Glue mug pieces together and attach mug to card with action wobble.

Treat Box Tutorial :: Kim Score

Hello everyone, are you ready to try something fun?  This is Kim Score, the design team tutorial expert with a  quick and cute treat box idea.  Did you know that Peachy Keen has 4" face stamps?   Today I will show you how to make the basic treat container box with three different design ideas.  Get creative and try some of the other 4" face stamps to create your own little cuties!

BASIC TREAT BOX TUTORIAL

Step 1

Cut a piece of card stock 9-1/2" x 8-1/4".  On the longer side, score at 1/2", 2", 5", 6-1/2".  On the shorter side, score at 1-1/2", 2", 7".

Step 2

Cut the card stock as indicated in the diagram below.  The gray areas are the areas to be cut out. For a larger view, click on the picture.

Step 3

Apply a strong adhesive like sticky strip along the 1/2" score line on the left and attach to other end to form box.  Glue or tape bottom of box in place.  

Step 4

Pinch the top of box closed.  Add a velcro dot to the box and fold over flap at top to keep closed.  The basic treat box is finished!  Now, embellish your box with a face.

 

Spring Chick

Supplies:

PKK-16  4" Penguin Face With Eyes Open stamp

4" wide oval die, template or tool for cutting large ovals

So Saffron and Peach Parfait card stock

Basic Black, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze ink pads

5 Petal Flower punch, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch

So Saffron, Peach Parfait, Pumpkin Pie markers

Uni-ball white gel pen

Pink chalk

Sponge Daubers

Dimensionals

Create basic box in So Saffron.  Stamp face on So Saffron, highlight eyes with uni-ball, color lids and beak with markers and sponge pink chalk onto cheeks.  Punch a 5 Petal Flower in So Saffron and 2 in Peach Parfait.  Punch a 2-3/8" Scallop Circle in So Saffron and cut in half.  Sponge edges of all saffron pieces with More Mustard ink.  Sponge edges of peach pieces with Cajun Craze ink.  Glue feet to bottom of box.  Glue feathers on top of head.  Attach head to box flap and wings to box with dimensionals.

Frosty Snowman

Supplies:

PKK-19 4" Snow Face With Happy Lashes and Coals for Smile stamp

4" Wide Circle die, template or circle cutting tool

Shimmery White, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Peach Parfait card stocks

Basic Black, Cajun Craze ink pads

Wide ribbon of choice

sponge daubers

1/2" Circle punch

Create basic box in Shimmery White.  Stamp face on Shimmery White, sponge chalk onto cheeks.  Stamp face onto Peach Parfait card stock.  Cut the nose out and sponge edges with cajun craze ink.  Glue nose onto face (or attach with dimensional).  Cut out head and attach to box flap with dimensionals.  Punch 3 circles in black and attach to front with dimensionals.  Wrap ribbon around neck and tie in knot.  Hand cut 2 arms out of Chocolate Chip card stock.  Attach arms to front with dimensionals.

Ginger Girl

Supplies:

PKK-04 4" Open Eyes with Simple Smile stamp

4" wide oval die, template or tool for cutting large ovals

Creamy Caramel, Blushing Bride, glittery red card stocks

Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride ink pads

Pink chalk

Uni-Ball white gel pen

Heart to Heart punch

Scrap of ribbon

Create basic box in Creamy Caramel.  Stamp face on creamy caramel, add white highlights to eyes and sponge chalk onto cheeks.  Stamp face onto Blushing Bride card stock.  Cut out nose, sponge edges with blushing bride ink and attach to face with dimensional.  Cut out head and sponge edges with chocolate chip ink.  Draw on frosting with uni-ball gel pen. Glue knot bow onto head.  Attach head to box flap with dimensionals.  Punch out heart and attach to front with dimensional.
