Welcome Thia!

Please join us in welcoming our
June Guest Designer

Thia Gielow
A bit about myself...My name is Thia and I live in Sunny Southern California with my loving and supportive hubby of 10 years and our two young children. I have been the crafty type my entire life. In high school, my second year Spanish teacher made me promise to drop 3rd year Spanish and go take art classes instead. So...I did! So now I've been creating various hand crafted items for more than 20 years. I happily create all occasion cards/interactive cards, scrapbook pages, mini scrapbooks, blankets, jewelry, hair accessories, wall art, floral pens...etc. Stamping is something I just started doing about 8 years ago. I love paper piecing with my TOMBOW glue. I own two Cricut machines (Baby Bug and the Expression) and a Cuttlebug. I also love die cutting and embossing. When I discovered Peachy Keen Stamps last year, I added them to the list of crafting supplies that I must have, along with Copic markers and chalks.  I am so thrilled to be a Guest Designer this month, because I am addicted... I just love Peachy Keen Stamps! Thanks Kathy! :0)

Helllllooooo PEACHY FRIENDS! I am super duper excited to be this months Guest Designer!
I’m Thia from Blue Moon Creation, today I’m sharing a piece of wall art I created using Peachy Keen Stamps and Cottage Cutz Dies (designed by Peachy Keen Stamps),
 Cottage CutzFunny Flowers (CC-PK4x6-001).

(close up of the PEACHY face and adorable butterfly)

Using a 5” square frame, I measured 3 squares just a tad smaller
than the last to create the borders and the butterfly background.

I used my Cuttlebug and my dotted embossing folder to create the center of the flower making it more realistic, only AFTER stamping on that cute PEACHY face!
I then colored the nose and tongue in with my Copics and used my White Gelly Roll for the dots on the eyes.

The butterfly I stamped onto the leaf as well as the center of the flower, to get the antennae and feet of the butterfly (where I'd be placing him), then paper pieced it creating dimension with layers. I colored the butterfly with Copics and my clear Copic glitter pen.

I used a White Gelly Roll pen on the leaves
to create the faux stitching,
which really stands out on that green paper.

All of the papers are from my huge stash that I have collected over the years
and continue to add to, anytime I see something cute.

Here is the picture hanging on the wall...

Thanks for stopping by!!!
Please feel free to visit my blog to see more of my creations.
I hope to see you back next week,
when I share a card that I made using the cute
Stamp Of The Month Set from April of 2012!

Have fun getting PEACHY this week!
